OTHER RESOURCES For those with email accounts and/or access to online resources, there are several electronic resources for vampire materials and information. alt.vampires - This is a Usenet newsgroup devoted to vampires, within the "alt" hierarchy. Since not all Usenet sites carry the "alt" hierarchy, not all network users with access to news will be able to access this particular group. Discussion tends to be centered on fantasy role playing and vampires on in film and television. ftp.cs.uwindsor.ca - This is the site for the Vampyres mailing list archives. The archives are held in the directory pub/local/text/vampyres and may be accessed via anonymous FTP [File Transfer Protocol]. Included in the archives are a number of FAQ [Frequently Asked Questions] lists, and numerous reviews of vampire-related materials. vampyres@guvm - This is a mailing list, open to anyone with an Internet account. Network users may subscribe by sending mail to the listserv@guvm.edu with the message "subscribe vampyres [your name]." Discussion centers on both popular and folkloric vampires, and there are a number of quite scholarly contributors. The mailing list also generates a large amount of vampire-themed fiction, or "fluff." [A number of these societies also publish journals] 1. United States Anne Rice's Vampire Lestat
